Action
Sterzing, with Casa Fellin at its heart, is the perfect starting point for many action-packed adventures. The so-called Rosskopf, Sterzing's local mountain and popular hiking destination, is just a 10-minute walk and 5-minute train ride away. Here you can lie in colorful meadows in summer and watch the clouds, and in winter you can ski or snowboard down the slopes. There is also something for tobogganing fans: one of the longest natural toboggan runs in the country.
Not far away, in Gasteig, you will find the natural phenomenon of Gilfenklamm, a breathtaking gorge full of bridges, footbridges and waterfalls. A little further on, the Ratschings valley is ideal for skiing in winter and hiking in summer, as is the neighboring valley of Ridnaun, where you can enjoy the magnificent panorama while cross-country skiing in winter and hike up to the highest mountain hut in South Tyrol, the Becherhaus, in summer.
Rafting in Sterzing is also sure to be wet and action-packed. Or why not take it easy at the Balneum, the indoor pool and sauna in winter and the refreshing outdoor pool in summer?
